Under the Federation Cynologique Internationale and the Clube Português de Canicultura regulations, open to dogs of every officialy recognized breed and variety, registered in a studbook or appendix to the studbook (waiting list) recognized by the FCI.

WARNINGS

It is strictly forbidden to sell animals in the show.

The exhibitors are responsible for safeguarding the welfare of the dog at a dog show.
It is forbidden to put the dog in a situation that can be dangerous for its health and welfare, such as leaving the dog in the car in hot or cold weather and/or treating the dog in a cruel manner.

The exhibitors are responsible for collecting the droppings of their animals on the show ground.

It is strictly forbidden to put crates and tables alongside the rings. Exhibitors must use the clearly marked grooming areas.

For every case not mentioned in the programme, the CPC Shows Regulation (Regulamento das Exposições Caninas e Concursos de Beleza) applies.

VETERINARY SERVICE

Veterinary inspection itinerant during the show.

The veterinary inspection is itinerant and is processed in a random fashion.

In Portugal there are no quarantine rules for dogs arriving from abroad or from any Community State. However, a PET PASSPORT for dogs from EU members or a HEALTH CERTIFICATE for dogs from non EU countries, with an anti-rabies Vaccination Certificate is required and the vaccination should have been performed, within the year before the date of show. Vaccination against the main dog diseases must have been made more than eight days before the show.

Dogs coming from abroad must be identified either electronically or by tatto according to the legislation of the country of origin.

Dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs (American Staffordshire Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Rottweiller, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Tosa) that enter the portuguese territory for a period of time of less than 4 months, must have proof of registration on the country of origin and subscribe a statement of responsability in a form supplied by the portuguese veterinary authority (DGAV).

IMPORTANT

Exhibitors should take note of the following legal rules which apply in Portugal (Decree-Law 276/2001, of 17 October):

“(…) Article 17
Surgical procedures

Surgical procedures, in particular tail docking in dogs, must be carried out by a veterinary surgeon.

Article 18
Amputations

1 – Keepers of pet animals who present them with any amputations which alter their appearance or for non-curative purposes are required to possess a document, issued by the veterinary surgeon who carried out the amputation, certifying that this procedure was necessary, indicating in particular that it was effected for veterinary reasons, or in the particular interest of the animal or to prevent it from breeding.

2 – The document referred to in the preceding paragraph shall consist of a certificate issued and signed by the veterinary surgeon, indicating his (her) professional license number.

3 – Keepers of imported animals which present any of the amputations referred to in paragraph 1 are required to possess a document certifying that the amputation was necessary, issued by the veterinary surgeon who carried out the procedure, authenticated by the relevant authorities in the country in question (…)”

EAR CROPPING

- The judge will judge dogs following scritly the breed standard in force.

- The exhibitors of cropped dogs whose breed standard provides ear cropping must deliver to the veterinarian at the entrance of the show, the ORIGINAL VETERINARIAN CERTIFICATE issued by the veterinary surgeon who carried out the amputation, certifying that this procedure was necessary, indicating in particular that it was effected for veterinary reasons, or in the particular interest of the animal. The presentation of the certificate is compulsory and it is required for the admission to the show.

The possibility to enter and admit dogs with cropped ears to these shows, even with a veterinarian certificate, is dependant of the decision of the CPC's General Assembly that will occur on 2015-12-08.

* The breeds Barbado da Terceira and Cão de Gado Transmontano are exempt of payment of the entries in mandatory classes.

** 1st individual entry / *** 2nd individual entry for the breeds Cão da Serra da Estrela de pêlo curto, Cão da Serra de Aires and Cão de Castro Laboreiro.

The amount due is calculated based on the date of payment.

Any difference between the amount paied and the amount due will be charged at the show.

10% discount for CPC members.

The catalogue will be available online the day of the show after 8 am. The exhibitors that require a printed catalogue must reserve a copy when making the entries, this copy has a cost of €5.

Parking

Payment onsite before exiting. Up to the daily maximum of €10,00.

INVITED JUDGES

The organization has the right to replace any of the announced judges.
